GUIDELINES FOR USE
The GPRS Community Room is a barrier free room that is available to non-profit organizations to use for meetings, workshops and day programs, as well as for GPRS and MEM tenants for card tournaments, family gatherings, etc. The Community Room has a full kitchen with stove, oven, fridge, microwave, as well as basic tables and chairs. The bathroom is fully wheelchair accessible.
The room must be pre-booked with a GPRS representative on a first come first served basis; contacs Grande Spirit Family Housing Office: 780 532-3276, email family@grandespirit.org or fax 780 882-6774.
A GPRS representative will meet with the user group representative 20 minutes prior to the start of the gathering, to be oriented to the room, and to go over the rules and checklist. No deposit will be charged, but donations to GPRS are welcome for upkeep of the Community Room.
Available hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Evenings: 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Weekends: 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
Users are welcome to use the kitchen; however, they must bring their own supplies, cooking equipment, dishes, utensils, coffee supplies, etc.
There is no alcohol or smoking allowed in the room. Maximum capacity for the room is 25, as determined by the City of Grande Prairie Fire Department. Fire evacuation procedures are posted.
Parking: visitors to MEM must use visitor parking located at the back of the parking lot. There are 2 disabled visitor parking stalls at the front of the building for those with disabled parking placards.
Users are asked to clean the kitchen and bathroom after use, put away tables and chairs, sweep and mop floors as needed, place garbage in the dumpster outside, and ensure windows are closed and locked.
At the end of the gathering, the GPRS representative will complete an inspection with the user group representative present to determine if cleaning is adequate and if there are any damages or loss of property. These will be recorded on the Application Form, and will be billed by GPRS to the user group or tenant, to be paid within 2 weeks.
